According to the World Health Organization\, on a global scale\, more than 700\,000 people die due to suicide annually (WHO\, 2023). Assiniboine is a member of the Brandon & Area Suicide Prevention Implementation Network (SPIN); we thank SPIN for sponsoring this event.  \nSPIN is a network working together to reduce the risk of suicide and promote wellness by promoting mental health\, reducing stigma\, and implementing suicide prevention initiatives (SPIN\, n.d.).
